Quick Count

Skill: Counting by 2s, 5s and 10s, mathematical reasoning

Number of players: 4 (two pairs of partners)

Object of the game: Correctly complete the most number strips

Supplies: Number strips, answer key, pencils, timer

Preparation: Photocopy and cut apart the number strips, place in a large envelope

How To Play:

  1. Each team takes five number strips out of the envelope. Someone sets the timer for 15 minutes and play begins.
  2. Partners work together to complete each number strip. They try to get as many done as quickly as possible. If they finish all five strips, they may get more from the envelope.
  3. When time runs out, each team checks their opponents’ answers.
  4. The team with the most correct number strips is the winning team.
